I'm Alex Burton, a Senior Graphic Designer and design-first Art Director, working with big ideas and producing high-end visual direction for the brands you connect with every day.
I partner with creative agencies and studios to develop timeless identities, content, and campaigns. Creating work that's brave, visually polished, and impossible to ignore. But always, always on brief.
Graduating with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design Communication from Norwich University of the Arts in 2008, I've spent nearly two decades collaborating with independent businesses, renowned creative agencies, production specialists, and global consumer giants.

Key Art and Key Visuals are a crucial first part of many projects, helping to sell in the overarching idea, creative approach and messaging. I’ve created hero visuals for pitch creative to final delivery for a huge range of clients and brands.
Creating visuals in photoshop, illustrator and video comps, with the help of Ai image generation to really create a polished scene ahead of production, such as a shoot or film. -

The process includes concept ideation, design, and strategic placement to engage target audiences and drive campaign objectives.

I’ve created 100’s of storyboards for short and long-form video, animations, TV ads, for brands, internal training videos, ‘How To’ Youtube guides, social content and product advertising.
Creating a sequence of visual sketches or references to map out scenes, actions, dialogue and editing design guides. Helping brands visualise the narrative, plan shots, and align the team before production.

This can include a deep dive into a new strategy, developing styleboards and moodboards along with design and creative development work.
With photography shoots, I often work on set, in multiple studios and on locations to oversee photography and styling, to ensure the client is creatively satisfied with every shot.
I work with stylists on makeup suggestions, to prop-sourcing, backdrops, model selections and location recces. I’ve worked on it all.
